Did you know you can rent tablets, cables and chargers from the computer labs (specifically the SCC)? I use these when I want to write out a bunch of useless notes to help remember things. I love UCD.

Check out this Facebook page and also apartments managers are giving out great deals on Craigslist. I would suggest North Davis because it’s pretty close to campus and very high density of college students.

For me it started out as a great addition to my resume, but I met these amazing people that I would never had the opportunity to otherwise. We just had our first initiate class and they’re all incredible people. As a science major I don’t get the chance to interact with comm majors or art majors, but we have a great mix.

I would like to invite anyone interested to a hike on May 18th 9:15am at University Falls. Let me know if you’d like to go to this open event for just the price of gas and lunch :)

What's your suggestion for housing for a transfer student. It's my first year and I'm not from the area. I want to think that student housing apartments (Lexington, Drake, West Village, etc.) are better for my transition but what would you say? Pricing wise and experience wise

I think that any apartment complex is social in the first few months. Just get to know your neighbors. Knock on their doors and invite them over for dinner or something :)
Personally, I would stay away from West Village etc. since they are crazy expensive. I would suggest getting your own room, but participating in a roommate placement program so you can make friends with other transfers.

Hey I'm a incoming freshmen and I was wondering if my roommate should be totally random or if i should room with someone from my hs that's also going to ucd? Oh & pros/cons of triple vs double?

Personally, I had a bad experience with a random roommate, though I have friends who had bad experiences with their high school friends. It really depends on your personality. Are you both laid back, clean and like going out? well then it’d probably work well. Basically if you’ve ever had confrontations in the past, rooming with them will just escalate any problems and I wouldn’t recommend it. Though if not, I’ve seen friends become extremely close after rooming together and are able to carpool home and fun stuff like that :)

As far as triple vs. double I would suggest you know those people very well before you undertake a triple. I have a triple right now, but we’re extremely laid back and hardly ever home (we also have the rest of the house to use). I would suggest a double, the price difference is minimal in comparison to the gain in privacy. Hope that helps, sorry I couldn’t be more helpful :)

Went tree climbing around campus, then decided to try our hand at slacklining. It was really fun and they were really nice about letting me try a few times before I had to get back to studying :)
